Palm Pre Sync
The Palm Pre is one of the most known business phones, apart from the BlackBerry. Normally, business people have large numbers of contacts and to-do lists, and if you don’t know how to manage these, you may end up in quite a bit of difficulty. Synchronization with your computer and other services allows you to always be organized, in terms of your contacts, calendars and even notes. Performing a Palm Pre sync is, therefore, of the utmost importance, especially to those who lead very busy lives. Such synchronization wrongly performed could lead to a lot of inconvenience as your information could be scattered all over the place.
Synchronizing with web services
Many of us have information stored on web services, such as Gmail and Facebook. In such circumstances, undertaking the Palm Pre sync is a very simple and straightforward procedure. All you have to do is select ‘preferences and accounts’ in your contacts application within the phone. You can then enter your password and username for any service you want (such as Gmail, Microsoft Exchange or Facebook). After this, the phone will automatically connect to these services and perform the synchronization with no problem at all. This means that even a novice mobile phone user can use this method easily, since all you have to do is enter the usernames and passwords for different services.
Synchronizing with desktop applications such as Outlook
If the majority of your data is stored on desktop applications, such as Outlook, you may have to adopt a different strategy for synchronization. In this case, the desktop application (such as Outlook) acts as third party software. The Palm Pre sync is done by connecting your phone to the software, and then letting it sort itself out from there on.
You can also use third party software for the Palm Pre sync between your phone and your Google account. To do this, you can download a Windows application known as Google Sync or CompanionLink for Google. These are predominantly PC software, but if you have a Mac you can use either SyncEm or Google Sync for Mac. The good thing about these kinds of software is that they are very easy to use with the Palm Pre sync. All you have to do is run the program and follow the instructions; they will provide all the guidance that you need.
Palm Pre sync over Wi Fi
You can also perform a Palm Pre sync using a Wi Fi network instead of using a USB cable to connect to the computer. In such a case, you would have to get software called PocketMirror. This allows you to link with your Outlook account over Wi Fi, which makes it very convenient to use. To synchronize this way, you have to first of all ensure that you install PocketMirror on your Palm Pre, as well as on your computer. On installation of the program on the computer, the application will give you very easy to follow instructions to set up your Palm Pre sync settings. The only disadvantage of using PocketMirror is that it only works on Windows.
